A Brief Biography of Prof. M. O. Iwuchukwu; a student friendly professor.


Matthew.O. Iwuchukwu is a renowned Professor of Frenchand Head ofDepartment of Foreign Languages and Literary Studies. A former Associate Dean of Arts (2010-2011), he has a lot of research interest in Francophone African literature. He is also interested in the following related research areas: Francophonie literature, comparative literature, theory of literature and literary criticism, sociocriticism, translation theory and practice (English-French-English), Nigerian literature written in/translated into French, and teaching of FLE (French as a foreign language). He teaches on the PhD, MA and BA (Hons) French studies programme. He is also a supervisor of PhD and MA students. He has worked in various aspects of Francophonie literature and culture, translation, teaching of FLE and has presented papers at several international conferences/workshops held in Nigeria, Canada, France and USA. He has over fifty scholarly publications, having published books and journal articles in several reputable national and international journals. In addition, he has won a number of research and workshop grants fromNigeria, Canada and France.
