Just The Truth: Success Is The Choice You Make.
Ten years later, Chike came back, so big and tall, Charming and shining, gaily dressed in a white suit and long black shoes.
Chike was the dumbest ass of the class, when we were in primary school. He could neither read nor write and the worst part of it was that copying of note was a war. Our teacher would call him names and emphatically tell him that he would never make it in life if he stays in school. To her, educational brilliancy was the only tool for chike to be great in life and to some extent she could be right. Chike had been advised on different occasions to quit school and try his career in the market since education was a waste of time for dumbest species like him, but he rejected such idea each time they comes.
But one thing unique about Chike was that he has talent in music but our teacher said that such talent was nonsense since Chike couldn't read or write even at his age.
The hand clock changed when the white men came to our school and Chike was singled out as the most talented of us who took delight in insulting and castigating him. Chike went to England with the white men and we never heard of him till I join media community and luck brought us together again.
I would often call to remind him of how we had followed him one day singing mockery song we learnt from our teacher. I would after that, remind him how I called him 'a truly dumb fellow' the day he said he won't travel with the white men because he would miss his friends, which I was one of them. He would laugh and remind me of how he gave me the beating of my life for such insults. Albeit, he do thank Us for being his motivations. We were the road to his success, but actually we were jealous and angry. It was a scam; the White men are partial for picking Chike, one of us said few weeks after Chike's departure.
Chike just completed a degree and has been signed by a record label at Wales. He just came back to see his parents and go back to commence a successful life career, while most of us who had relegated him to the last zone of success still buy jamb form on yearly basis. Those who were lucky enough to gain admission, were not sure of securing a job after degree program.
Where do I throw my arrows, dear? Your ass is yours and yours alone. If you can wrack it off, success is yours.
At early stage of your life, in your developmental stage, those whom you grew up with will not take you serious. Many will see you as nothing but a dumb ass. Even when luck knock on your door, they will tagg it fallacy. Many will be envy to your journey, they won't like to see you go more than them because your success may be intimidating to them, though they can't show it openly. They won't reply you when you ask for help, many will tell you this or that just to cut your wings.
What is the Antidote, dearly?
Wrack your ass off. Not tomorrow but now and cover your ears from discouraging words. Chike wouldn't have made it if he had listened to side words. He wouldn't have mate luck of he wasn't determined and ready for it. He knows what he want and wracked his ass off.
Just go for the best. Don't look or listen to the naysayers, just focus. Don't even let them know your mind; don't ask them for advice, because they don't have any for you. Just walk on your path and let them hear from others, even through media that your path is a smooth one that leads to success.
"Do not let the doubtful mind know when you're going, but let them know when you reach so that your success will wore them back to you" Ben.
You don't have their time till you make it. Offer them advises when they ask for it BUT DON'T ASSOCIATE WITH THEM.
Many of them who blocked you today shall still beg to have your line tomorrow. Many who didn't take your serious today, will beg to visit your homes soon.
Make new friends outside your chores and succeed. The Naysayers will be your noisiest fan, when you sit on the throne.
In this long race, dear. I shall be counting on you for we all knows that success is sacrosanct.
